95 goldwing front seals

Postby TerryRuth » Fri Oct 02, 2015 11:29 pm

I have the front forks off and the dust boots off and the wire retainer removed. Have clamped it into a vise on a 300 lb. welding table and have VIGOROUSLY pulled on the fork tube several hundred times and the seal will not come out yes I tried BOTH....../ MY WELDING TABLE IS GETTING A TOUR OF MY GARAGE...what now guys??? tried heating with heat/strip gun too

Did you remove the socket head retaining bolt from the bottom of the fork tube?

by the tutorial the allen head bolt has a copper washer on it and is accsesed through a hole where the axle is tried hard to remove it (real hard) is it just a drain? am afraid im going to strip it i can see the tube slide up through the antidive

It is not just a drain. It is the bottom anchor for the fork innards. It MUST be removed to dissasemble the fork.

Be thankful it's an external bolt!! The ones in my Kawasaki were huge, and bolted in from the inside of the fork tubes - I had to build a 3-foot-long allen wrench (appropriate sized nut, welded on to the end of a 3' piece of rebar) to remove those suckers!

I know I am going to hate myself for asking but why did you make a longer spacer than stock?
