rear brake MC removel & rebuild

Postby papaM11945 » Sat Oct 03, 2015 1:28 pm

Bike-91 1500 SE / Problem- no rear brakes - no pedal, no brakes and no leaks. Master cylinder? Ideas? If it turns out to be the MC, has anybody done this job? Thanks

Bleed them first. Left front then rear. If it ends up being the master, lot's of stuff to remove to get it out. If something looks like it needs to come off to get to it, it probably does.

Thanks for your response. I should have mentioned that I had bled the front and It was perfect. Tried to bleed the back (over and over) and got nothing. I used a vac pump. Also, an auto mechanic friend said it sounds like the MC. So, unless someone suggests another possibility, It looks like I'll be rebuilding the rear MC. Now, how do I convince WingAdmin to do a photo demo how to on a 1500. I think there is one on an 1100. I love those things. They make DIY easy, (easier?).

Bleed the left front with the pedal first. It's linked to the rear. Is this a new to you bike or one you've ridden for a while?
