Headlight goes out

Postby Fuzzyswing » Sun Oct 04, 2015 7:35 am

The headlight goes out when ether headlight or tail light fuse is pulled!!
Why does tail light fuse kill power to headlight? Vary dangerous at night!
How can I put on seperate circuits ? My 1988 and 1990 are same issue.

I don't know about you, but I rarely check my taillight while motoring down the road. If the fuse for the taillight went, how would you know that this safety item was not present, (and also likely for you to receive a friendly LEO chat for a while). If you taillight fuse goes, and the headlight goes out, especially at night, you are more likely to stop and check to see the problem. I think that this is a good safety feature :!: :!:

I think this is vary dangerous,
If I'm riding at night and headlight goes out. It could be a fatal accident!
I'm going to rewire and add a warning dash light for tail light failure!!

+1. Good thought and more than likely why it was designed that way.

I agree with Redial and Tom. You should know when the headlight goes out, and stop to see what the problem is. Fix it before it becomes a real problem. ;)
