Flashing led trunk brake light

Postby Danielrobinson » Mon Oct 12, 2015 8:08 pm

I have a gs-100a trunk led brake light module I've tried to install. I am having difficulty getting it to work. It's supposed to be a straight + to + and - to - hook up. Can anyone help?

I don't have one but I notice that there's 2 wires for the input (from the vehicle) and 2 wires feeding the LED....output.
I suspect that the wires are attached seperatly...meaning that it cannot use a common ground, the black wire feeding the LED Light must not be the same connection as the vehicle...
The reason is it may use ground switching to make it pulse...ergo the floating ground.
Completely cut the LED loose, both wires, and insert the module at each of the 4 connections.

I've tried to hook it up using both wires, the park/running lights pulse then are solid, but do not work with brake light. I reversed the wires and no lights at all. I read an article saying this light work off a box with resistors and diods running the light and it has constant power and the brake light works when all 12v are applied.

It sounds like it's hooked up in the wrong place..As I recall, there's one wire that feeds the brake light harness through a plug under the seat.
After it leaves there,it splits off to different directions. You need to find the **one** feed wire and install the flasher before it gets to the plug.
Installing it around the lamp area and you will have a "feedback" into the module keeping it on.

I did exactly this on my bike:

Two wires enter the LED resistor module, which is located behind the left saddlebag, under the trunk (right next to the air compressor). The two wires entering are green/yellow (brake) and brown/white (running). One wire (yellow) exits and runs to the LED spoiler. The other wire from the spoiler is green, and is ground.

You need to intercept the green/yellow wire just before it goes into this resistor module, and insert your flasher there.
