a idea I have. .

Postby Uncle Fester » Tue Oct 20, 2015 6:42 am

I was wondering if the GL1500 was offered in any year with no stereo antenna ? I know it was offered with no cb.

What I am thinking is, with the stereo I have in mind, I do not need the AM/FM or CB antenna, so I want to remove them, but to do that right, I need the trunk bright strip WITH OUT the raised section for the antenna mount, or the required mounting holes. Easy enough on the CB side, but the AM/FM side ?

I had to put one of these to cover the CB holes. Don't see why it couldn't be done on the other side as well.

I have seen those, but they are for when using arm rests. . . I am not, that's why I want bright strip WITH OUT antenna mounting holes at all, if possible.

They can be used without arm rests, to cover the antenna holes.
As far as I know the 1500's had am/fm radios, therefore all had that antenna!

I have passenger arm rests, but it attaches through the bolt holes like the antennas and only stands out 1/4".

Cool, thanks for the picture. I do currently have arm rests, but do not like that mounting style. I found some GL1800 arm rests that mount to the passenger grab handlles, a much more secure mount I think.

My stereo will be my 120gig IPOD classic, a volume knob, a amp and the speakers, so I.ro not Ned the antennas. As you know, when I remove the factory deck, I loose the CB and intercom, so. . . .When I do.my stereo, I will be selling the whole deal, deck, cb, intercom and antennas as a package deal.
