Loose terminals?

Postby The Bus Driver » Thu Oct 29, 2015 9:32 am

Hi there, read the thread about electrical problems, and just wanted to know where these terminals are that can come loose over time. Are they on the handlebar mounted control where the starter switch is. I would like to take this apart and see if they are loose. I had an issue this morning with a 'click' when I pushed on the starter button. The headlight dimmed out and I heard the click, tried it again and it fired up.When I got back from my bus run the bike started up no 'click'. To me this sounds like a terminal is loose.Anyone have any ideas?? Tony--

Terminal connections.
There's a couple in your case.Because it did not crank the engine, you can eliminate the ones at the kill switch.Concentrate on the connections at the battery post, its ground lug connection and start solenoids.
If there clean and tight,I suspect one of the solenoids is borderline. If its a solenoid problem, its best to replace both.
