I have a 1992 Aspencade Gl1500 and it all of sudden will not start. I stopped at a local store and when I returned to the bike I could not get it to turn over. I have no neutral light on the dash and the starter has no power to it. Battery is ok and fully charged. I did not use the reverse feature so That should be a problem. Looking for any help on were to start looking for this problem before I have to take to a shop to find out what is wrong. When I hit the starter button the headlight goes completely out. I know the bike is in neutral as the back whell spins freely. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

There are a few switches that will cause it not to turn over - kick stand, clutch, neutral. Try wiggling the clutch and pushing it out as far as it will go.

I would have to say it is your gearshift sensor... even if any of the other switches were bad and preventing it from starting it would still have the neutral light on (assuming your bulb is good of course).
