rear bulb types

Postby GillesGLW » Mon Nov 16, 2015 3:13 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm struggeling to find the correct bulbs for my side sadlebag and trunk lights. I'm looking to replace them with led ones, but there are so many types that it's hard to find the correct ones.

Would you know the type of bulbs which fit for the trunk and sadlebag side lights?

I also bought a replacement connector for the trunk lights:

My problem is that I can't find the correct bulb which fits with the small black socket. I tried to put one of the saddlebag bulbs, but apparently something smaller does fit in the socket?
Would you know the correct type of bulb?

Thanks!
Gilles

I believe the bulb you are looking for is a 24. Go to amazon to com http://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-Long-Life-Miniature-Bulb/dp/B00318V0VQ?tag=goldwingdocs-20 to see a picture of the blister package.

thanks Mike, looks like the correct one.

By chance, would you know which one I need to order for the side lights?

I'm pretty sure the trunk side lights, which are aftermarket and not OEM, are also the 24 bulb. The socket you have in the picture looks the same as the sockets I have on my 1500.

I can confirm the socket for the side lights is bigger than the one for the rear trunck.

I suspect that the side lights are not OEM, although the installation has been correctly made.

Is there a way to measure the size of the socket and find the correct bulb?

Thanks

I don't know how to measure for the correct bulb size but if you have the trunk bottom off, simply pull the socket out of the side light housing and take the bulb out. Take the bulb to the local auto parts store and make an inquiry. Without seeing what you have, I don't know how else to advise you.

Thanks Mike,

I will bring all the stuff to a local auto store and see what they can propose me!

Have a nice day!
