Radio tune switch

Postby rainman200444 » Fri Nov 20, 2015 9:34 pm

Hello everyone,
Have a question for anyone? I have a 1990 Honda Goldwing GL-1500. I need to know how to remove the radio tuning switch on the left handlebar. Reason, I'm in the process of putting a cb-radio there and relocated it. And for the life of me I don't see how it comes off without damaging it.
So any help would be greatly appreciated...

THANKS, Jeff

With out going out to look at mine, I would bet there are one or two screws that come up from below. . .

That is correct Fester. The handlebar quadrant needs to be removed and the radio tuning lever assembly is attached with a couple of screws INSIDE the handle bar quadrant upper half.

Yes. You remove the two screws holding the left halves together:

They then come apart:

There is then one screw holding the upper switch in place - remove it (note there is a bracket already removed in this picture, you do not have to remove this in order to access this screw):

The upper switch portion (regardless of whether it is tuner only, or tuner and CB) then pulls free:
