97SE Turn Signal...how does it know?

Postby mikeblakeney » Fri Dec 11, 2015 8:35 pm

18 year old technology and it knows when I am changing lanes, making a turn or sitting at a light. I'm just curious, how does it know?

Thought it was the bank angle sensor initially, but remembered the canceling mechanism in the forks when troubleshooting mine not turning off.

The lights will automatically stop when you complete the tum because of the turn signal sensor in the steering stem.
The turn signal lights automatically stop in 7 seconds or after riding 120 m (110 yards) because of a signal to and from the ECM.
