What is this little black square box on carbs

Postby GeezerGoldwing » Fri Jan 01, 2016 4:14 pm

developed a gas leak on my 1500.. pulled it and saw this black square plastic fitting with one side open, what is it and what does it do?

seems like its leaking under the accellerator pump. could those o rings be bad or the connection of the accellarator pump to the carb body?

got me puzzled, any way to pump gas thru it without putting back in motor to start it.. will vac pump hooked to the auto petcock open it for fuel to flow? thanks guys for any info or suggestions..

trying to post pictures.. stupid email.. will post as soon as i can load them.
Jim.

Those are the float bowl vent hoses.

You should identify sources of leaks prior to yanking them out. :?:

You'll get better results by rigging up a gravity feed IV bottle fuel supply.

And is why you use an inspection mirror as an aid.

That's the fuel supply line from the fuel filter.

All the best for the new year, Peter.

Incorrect. Like already said, that's the "T" for the vent hoses.
