Steering vibration on 1999 Aspencade

Postby VWGene » Sun Jan 24, 2016 10:01 pm

I experience a vibration in my front end whenever accelerating or decelerating when the bike is in gear. If I put the trans in neutral there is no vibration. I'm currently using dyna beads in new Metzler tires. I had the same issue with my old Michelin Pilots, which I replaced when the front tire separated; they had wheel weights. Any thoughts on how to eliminate the vibration? :?

More than likely the problem is your universal joint. The fact that it occurs only when the driveline is under load is what points to this. It's a fairly common problem in Wings, and particularly in GL1500's.

Read through this: How to replace your universal joint (and driveshaft).
