94 SE front fork size

I have bad bushings and seals in front forks, and to remove and have rebuilt, I can purchase another set from a well respected used dealer for a lot less. Also, I don't care so much about the air adjust in front.....now, where do I measure for correct size, 40mm or 41mm? I can get either size for around $75 to the door versing $300 to rebuild mine! Mother Honda will only rebuild one way, costing over $400, another source wants $289 with me supplying the parts. All I want is for the front end to be right, without costing so much. Honda just took me for over $1500 just to replace diaphragms less then 6 months ago. I am retired, fixed income, and have to be very cost effective with what I do. Thanks, Steve

You measure the tube diameter, above the fork protecter. The fork tube diameter is 40mm. Are you changing them yourself ? It's not a hard job.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

yes I am replacing them myself. I have ordered the forks and they will be here next week. The ones I ordered are from a 95 1500SE and they are 40mm. Thanks for the help and advise, this site has helped me in so many ways, and saved me alot of money too!
