Hi All, does the have changed their radio to LED like WingA did on the Articles on radio to LED I would like to ask you guys first the 3mm LED (RL3-B2030) lights are TINY small. Ok I tried one on a 9v battery and this little light gets SUPER HOT. I also got 560ohm's that WingA said to get will this 560ohm's cool down this lights.

I'm surprised the LED didn't burn out! When checking them in my local electronics store, the guys usually use two button cells (3volts) to make sure they are the color/brightness I'm looking for. At 9v they wouldn't last long at all. Below are the ones I used. I put a 420 ohm resistor in series with the LED.

If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.

You can't connect a LED directly to a power source (battery or anything else) without a current limiting resistor. The LED will not last very long doing this - so much current going through it, which is why it got so hot. Some LEDs will just burn out instantly if you try this.
