Start Switch

Hi All me again :D I have aftermarket levers on my bike I had then for a long time and it always work that other day I was coming out and bike die i pull in my clutch lever and my bike didn't start it always did only on neutral so went I got home I remove the switch and did that switch by hand the bike start I clean it but all back together and it will NOT start I remove my lever and but some black tape on the lever and bike starts is the clutch start switch wear out or something else. And yes the kick stand is up. Do I need a new clutch start switch.

On the 1100's there is a bushing in there that can wear so that the clutch doesn't set the switch..or could be a dirty contact point. Sounds like you are on the right track.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

Check your clutch lever bushing - chances are it is worn, and giving the lever enough free play that it is not fully depressing the neutral start switch. See: How to replace your clutch lever bushing
