Oil Dipstick

Postby Ricky3009 » Fri Mar 04, 2016 2:12 pm

In the process of getting my bike ready for Spring, I unscrewed the dipstick to find it didn't have one, dipstick that is.

Would it have broken off?

Will it damage the engine?

Shining a light into the orifice I didn't see one; not good eh?

Please advise o great ones.

Ricky

Let me guess...you were looking at the filler cap? :)

No worries, we all do things like this. Just most of us don't post a question publicly about it before we discover our mistake.

Bull in a China shop springs to mind.

I do remember a small dipstick on a bike I worked on and thought, well, too much too soon eh.

Thank you.

Usually it's...
This guy I know....
My neighbor....
My wife's second removed uncle...
I left the dog in the garage and...

WE ALL have WOOPS moments. ;)
Hopefully it feels good being human.
HEY!!! Did'ja hear about that Autonomous Google Car the crashed recently.

Know its new taste and be loyal, you'll know when to change that oil.
Taste testing as the miles flow, souring as that acid grows.
And don't flirt with dirt or darkened oil, all the faster your engine will spoil.
