Those rubber grommets in the rear wheel

Postby wsunate » Mon Mar 07, 2016 1:41 am

In the rear wheel hub are those 5 or 6 rubber inserts into which the drive flange inserts. Anyone have any idea how much play should be between the metal insert and the rubber grommet thing? The manual says inspect for wear and deterioration; they look fine but there is a little play in mine.

Thanks for any help!
Nate

If they are hard as rocks replace..I'd replace just on principle..they are probably as old as the bike.

Any play is too much. IMO

I just ordered a set from Cyclemax for my next tire change.

Correct. There should be no play at all, and they should be relatively pliable.
