Electric Shifter

Postby sunprowl@1 » Wed Mar 23, 2016 6:04 am

Hi Guys and Gals:
Any one know who sells and where to get or check out an electric shifter?
My bike 1988 GL1500. (with real sloppy heel-toe) Just spent about an hour reading about shift seal and repairing
all the problems and installing a shaft brace, not sure which is the best way to go.

Thanks

I would think that if you want to put an electric shifter on the bike you would have to replace the seal anyway. I put the brace on my wing last summer and it made a world of difference. I had a '81 wing with a heel toe shifter and it was no good. It had so much play that it very hard to shift. Took it off and the bike shifted good after that. The shifter seal and brace is not that hard of a job with a few simple tools. The best tip was putting a piece of shop towel in the socket to hold the bolt.

Tprender, Thanks advice well taken I also have heel toe, was on bike when I bought it, not sure which way saw two or three different in here but will not use another one like this.
My last three bikes were Kawasaki Nomad and 900 Classic (2) all had heel toe from factory all worked well. Have a nice day will post what I am doing.
