 Can anyone tell me how to replace the light bulbs on the side of the trunk on a GL1500, 89?

Well, you start by removing the four screws on the trunk lower cover. Carefully pry it down and back to remove it. Then open the trunk, locate and remove the 8MM cap nuts that hold the trunk side marker on. You should now have the assembly free from the trunk with nothing but the three little light sockets plugged in. The fun part comes when you try to reinstall the trunk lower cover. It is a PITA to get both of the front tabs aligned and the tabs along the bottom of the marker assembly. Mine always gets hung up on the license plate light.

Thanks very much for the reply. I think I can handle that.
