I have 15 weight oil in my 1500 with Progressive fork springs, and it is quite firm. I might try 10 weight next time.

ATF is what Honda recommends. I tried different weight fork oils and found ATF worked the best for me.

ATF is the equivalent of about 10 weight oil.

Running ATF in my fork with stock springs - runs ok'ish for now.
Someone gave me a couple bottles of Honda 20 weight fork oil, just wondering if this would be a little heavy to use.....perhaps I should should get rid of this oil I was given.......

I believe I would, unless you wish to store it in case someone else wants it. The heaviest oil I would put in the front forks is 15W. I have some 10W here from a Synthetic oil company, but did not have enough available when I did the seals, so I used Belray 10W. I have Progressive springs in my forks, and with the Belray, it feels okay. A 20W IMHO could be thick enough to pop fork seals out.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Yeah, like I said, the 15 weight oil in my forks results in a fairly stiff front end, 20 weight would likely be very hard, especially in colder temperatures.
