Another Cruise control issue
First things first, 2000 Goldwing GL1500se. When I first got it the cruise would engage at all. Found out that the switch that controls my brake lights was not adjusted correctly as my brake lights were always on. Fixed that and cruise worked fine until this last month or so when it would work off and on until today. I was on my way to work and it would not come on at all. I started playing with the brake thinking maybe it was that problem again. Nope, but when I pushed out on the clutch it worked when I released the clutch it kicked back off. I notice there is a small amount of play between when I pull on the clutch and when I actually feel resistance. Is there a way to adjust that or is there a adjustment like on the brake lights? If so could someone point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Re: Another Cruise control issue
My guess would be to check the clutch lever bushing for wear. Go to the top of the page How to articles for 1500, Wing admin has a good write up on symptoms and how to replace. Good luck

Re: Another Cruise control issue
on my 1998 1500 I had the same problem, I found that the rubber boot on the switch was shot. I cut a small piece of rubber vac. hose and put it over the little stem on the clutch lever has worked ever since.

Re: Another Cruise control issue
Got the bushing yesterday and replaced it this morning before work. Having cruise again makes the commute a joy again... until I hit traffic anyways. Thanks to everyone for the info and goldwingdocs for the great page..
