Just for a laugh!

Postby PedroTQ » Mon May 16, 2016 6:11 pm

G'day to All,

as some of you may know, when you put a Cobra 6 into 6 exhaust system on a Valkyrie it makes the engine run a little lean, so re-jetting is sometimes required.

This PO had a much cheaper fix ................ just glue a couple of green kitchen scourers into the air intake to choke the engine :(

Fixed!

Finally did something about it!

laid the cover up side down in a container and put some Acetone in there, then put a lid on the container and left soak for 24 hours.

This softened the glue and it slid right off, just a wipe with a sort of clean rag and all the remaining glue came off (so did the K&N sticker).

No more highly abrasive particles being sucked into the engine now. :D

That cleaning job looks pretty darn good. I got to ask though, did the scouring pads work? :)

The official name for that is "Intake air scrubber"

It's part of the clean air burn system they use here in California... LOL :)
