Post by johnfliesagain » Fri May 20, 2016 7:21 pm

O K I have done some searching and found discussion on AUTOMOTIVE tires... really now... but which should I get bias or radial and why .

My Local dealership has Dunlop Elite 3 in stock didnt ask if radial or bias... found them at Bike B much cheaper Should I go with E-3or the new E-4 ?

The 1500 wing calls for bias tires, the 1800 wing calls for radials tires. We all know how the E3's work, you might want to try the new E4's and let us know how they are.
I always get about 20,000 miles on my 1500's with bias tires and on both my 1800's with radials I only got about 10,000 miles from the radials. I rode 2 up and pulled a trailer on my 1500's most of the time and 1 up without a trailer on my 1800's go figure.

I'd stick with the factory recommendation. Bias

Bias as recommended. I don't think you can get mc tires for the 15 in radial.
Try dennis kirk for tires. I have been using the E3's and have been getting 20k plus out if them. One up and no trailer.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

There were no radials when the 1500's were built, thus a bias was used. Radials will work if so desired.
