Busted Bolt!

G'day to All,

When I first picked up my 98 Valkyrie I noticed several bolts missing, one was on the Alternator, so I decided to see if the top one would fit and is the required length?

To my supprise there was the remains of the old bolt in there :shock: :x

So I removed the alternator hoping there was enough bolt left to get a grip on, and luckily there was about 3 threads sticking out, but she was seized in there real good!

soaking in penetrating oil and using a large pair of vice grips I got a good tight hold on the bolt, in the process I also grabbed a wad of my goatee and ripped it out of my chin :lol: ..... That Hurt!

Finally after over 2 hours of pressure one way then the other I finally had it out ;)

Ran a tap through the thread and now ready to re-fit the alternator :D

Thanks for the comments Guys,

That's all I can do at the moment, Clean, Clean and Clean some more until all the parts I require come in, then I can assemble and Ride! :D
