1992 aspencade

Postby suburban9 » Mon Jun 27, 2016 2:16 pm

Does anybody know if the flasher relay will work on one side and work on the other. I have blinkers on the left but none on the right. I have changed all the bulbs and interchanged with the left side and they work but still nothing on the right side. Any comments would help. thanks

First, welcome to the forum.
The flasher handles all of them, not just one side or the other.
Do the hazards work on all 4?
My guess is that there is something wrong with either your switch or wiring.

I can hear the flasher clicking but the lights don't come on. im thinking I may have a problem somewhere in the wiring since my stereo works intermittent also

How about the hazard lights? Do all 4 bulbs light when you turn them on?

That at least rules out the switch and points it more toward the wiring as you thought.

Multiple electrical symptoms usually is caused by a bad ground somewhere. (there are multiple ground points that can cause the problem) Check other lighting such as brake lights and also LCD display for proper operation.

As dingdong pointed out, a bad ground is a likely suspect. Many (perhaps most) of the uncommon, oddball GoldWing electrical faults seem to be traced to a bad ground somewhere. It may be possible to introduce a temporary ground to one of the right side signals & see if that brings 'em back. That would give you a starting point for your investigation. Best of luck - I'm certain it will turn out to be something extremely minor...but no less annoying!
