Pearl Pacific White vs Pearl Glacier White

Postby marv@hestonphoto.com » Mon Jul 11, 2016 11:51 am

I'm looking for some replacement parts for my 1990 GL1500 SE which is Pearl Pacific White. I'm finding parts from a 1995 GL1500 that appear to be Pearl Glacier White, my question is has anybody seen these two colors side by side? Could I get away with using a Pearl Glacier White (NH326M) part with my Pearl Pacific White ( NH251P), how close are the two colors?

First, welcome to the forum.
If you go here, you can see the two side-by-side.
Your Pearl Pacific White has a yellow tint to it compared to the Glacier White.

Thanks Chris, That's scary Yellow! I never thought of my bike as THAT yellow. :-)

I was surprised that Honda would call that "white", so I looked at it on a couple of other sites that sell touch up paint and they were all the same shade.

HA, I think that the color chips have been aged to "Yellow", to reflect what happens to the plastic body parts after 25 years of sunshine. Once I get my bike back together I'll shoot it next to my 2008 Pearl Alpine White 1800 for comparison. I know it's creamier looking but seriously not Yellow like that chip chart. LOL

I'd say it's more the Pearl Glacier White has a more bluish tint to it, to make it appear more stark white.

The Pearl Pacific White is a "softer" white, which appears more yellowish. Kind of like the difference between white light from an incandescent bulb and white light from a fluorescent bulb.
