putting on reverse

Postby greenbaypackfan » Wed Jul 20, 2016 10:19 pm

I got my lower mileage engine in with the reverse. Now I find out I need some kind of bracket that is welded to the frame,to bolt the reverse handle to. I have no idea where to get one or even find an old frame I could cut it off of. I could possibly make one, but don't have any idea what size, exact location, or what tap size. Anyone got a suggestion how I can fix my problem? I have or can get all the other parts I need.

I can't help you with the details of your problem, but it sounds like fabrication of the part would be your best option, short of replacing the whole frame. You'd need to get the dimensions and exact location from another bike, then carefully clone the part, and weld it in place, unless there's a possibility of attaching it with screws or clamps.

On a quick search I did looks like it's a internal threaded stud welded to the frame. I think the threads are 8mm. I'll have to look at my bike later this evening to be sure. Or someone will know.

I have been all over looking for a Goldwing that I could get a picture of. I just need to know what it looks like and where it fits. I can fabricate one myself. If anyone has one that they have the left shelter off could you take a pic for me? Even the manuals don't show it. Thanks

It's not real hard to get to but will take a little time and dedication to do it. Kinda hard when we're riding. We will get it to you soon.
