'Spare' part, LOL, can you help ID where it goes

Postby marv@hestonphoto.com » Sat Jul 23, 2016 11:59 pm

Hi,

I'm attempting to put a 1990 GL1500 SE back together and I've got a heat shield that I can't find the right place for. I've tried holding up in every imaginable position and just can't see to get it to fit in anywhere. I've looked at the online exploded views of the exhaust system and they don't show any heat shields so they were no help. Any help would be appreciated, a picture of it in place would be wonderful.

Thanks
Marv

try having a look at all these parts listings to see is you can find out where it belongs.................http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/H ... parts.html if it belongs on your bike it should be in there somewhere.

hope it helps ya find it.

Thanks Stuart,

Can you provide any guesses what Honda would group the heat shields with, as I have looked there, but it isn't shown with Exhaust Muffler SE. I've also looked at all the listings that made any sense - for example I didn't look at Air Cleaner.

Hey marv, glad i was able to help ya find out what and where that part belongs. usually when i'm looking for a part, i always go to partzilla. there i know i can find almost anything i need along with the OEM part number, then most times i can find the part/parts on eBay. partzilla is the only site i know where you can look at any diagram and usually find what you need. I've bought parts from them before and always had good luck with them.

stuart.
