Vibration at highway speed 120 km/h+

Postby GlimWas » Fri Jul 29, 2016 11:34 am

I noticed lately, this small vibration when i let go of the throttle. It lasts only a split second and only occurs at high speeds larger than 120 km/h (75 m/h)
It feels like it's originating from under the seat, but it's hard to say exactly. At first i thought that it had to be the universal joint, now i'm not sure anymore because it does not happen at low speeds.

Any suggestions?

U joint is a possibility. It would be prudent to check. Have you serviced the drive line recently?

No, i haven't done that yet, it's scheduled for coming winter. I have to replace the rear tire, so i wil Service the drive train then.

Instead of just letting go of the throttle, very slowly close it, to try to get to the point where the engine is not either pulling nor dragging, so the drivetrain has zero load on it. If the vibration is constant in this state, it's a fair chance your U-joint is the issue.
