Engine R and R - 1500
I"ve been considering replacing my 93, 1500 engine with a 2000 engine so as to take advantage of the updates made in the final year of the 1500 series. Has anyone done something similar? Should I be looking at buying the CPU as well as the engine and what engine parts (assuming that I will be able to purchase a long block) are compatible? Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the ECU from your bike will drive a 2000 engine just fine.
