Gauges and lights inop.

Postby TK1 » Fri Aug 05, 2016 3:25 pm

Hello. First time posting.

I have a 1995 interstate. While trying to find neutral my neutral wouldn't come even when the bike was actually in neutral. I noticed later that day when riding again that my O.D. light didn't work along with my fuel and temp gauges and my dash light were out too. I checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they're all good. This happened the day that I Purchased and used a new phone charging cord. I don't think it has anything to do with it as I've used phone chargers before and the outlet is still charging the phone. I guess I'm stumped. I don't want to just start tearing stuff apart. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad ground...did you disturb any other wiring when installing it?

it's most likely the relay behind the fuse box under the left side panel.
you have to remove the seat, then loosen all the bolts INSIDE the left saddle bag, then you can shift the bag just enough to get the cover off the relays, it should be the 2nd or 3rd relay on the top row. I just had mine fail, if you look I think you will find you have no tail lights either
mine just went out and then the brake light relay failed as well
look at the store front here and you will see they sell them here
