Michelin Commander II's on a GL1500

Postby Happytrails » Mon Aug 15, 2016 8:44 am

Looks like Avon still makes Venom tires but they discontinued the ones they made for bigger bikes like the Goldwing. So I’m looking for new tires and have read a little about Michelin Commander II’s. Has anybody been using these on there 1500? I’m hoping to find another tire similar to Avon Venom’s. :D

Avon still makes a tire for the 1500. It's called a Cobra now. Just have to pick the bias tire.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

I use commander for second time and very satisfied, i made 18,000 km. on the first one and now I have 18,000 km. on the second one and I am at 1/3 of the tread left. Very good on wet road and very quiet ride.
Drive safely Heaven do not exist.

Thanks! :D I'm reading reviews of it now. Read a comment that Avon was incorporating the Venom X line into the Cobra. :?

Thanks! :D Sounds like a good tire and just what I'm looking for. Reading reviews and trying to decide. Forum replies help a lot. :D

My '76 Wing, a GL-1000 handled awful when I got it.
I put Commander IIs on it and it was night and day!
Now it handles like a sport bike.
I just bought a Commander II for the front of my
'99 GL-1500 SE but haven't had the chance to install it
yet. I hoping for the same results as with the 1000.

I've had them on my GL1500 for a year and a half now. :)
