No rear brakes on my 2000 GL1500

Postby sideout94 » Sun Aug 21, 2016 9:17 pm

My bike fell over on it's right side in the garage and it was on its side for about 15-20 minutes, I got it back on it's side stand and didn't thinkj anything about it. A week later i wen to take the bike out and got halfway down the block and the brake pedal went all the way down without any brakes??? i didn't notice any fluids on the garage floor and it seems as if the blake fluid is at proper level. Anyone have any ideas on what might have happened before I take it into a shop and spend $$$ on something simple. THANKS

Before doing anything, try bleeding the brakes - don't forget you have to bleed the left front first as well!

I think WingAdmin nailed it. I'll bet it ingested a big gulp of air in the master cylinder while it was down, and as soon as you used the brakes, it forced it into the lines. If that's it (and I'm almost certain it is), a good bleeding of the system will have it back up & operating normally in no time.
