1988 gl 1500 clutch air bubbles

Postby corwin » Wed Aug 25, 2010 8:24 pm

I have just purchased a 88 gl1500 and on the way home the bike would ocassionaly act like the clutch was going out, during acceleration it would slip, checking the master cylinder it constantly puts out tiny minute air bubbles. Tried bleeding and still occurs. Does master cylinder need rebuilt or is it another problem.

Finally figured it out, the return port in clutch master cylinder was clogged and also the rod that pushes the plunger was out of its pivot point in the handle and was keeping the plunger out far enough to keep the return port stopped. Cleaned everything and so far it is working fine. Corwin
