Wobble

Postby vesdan » Sun Oct 02, 2016 7:51 am

I have a 1990 Goldwing trike, and have a "wobble or shimmy" in it when going down the road. This usually happens at speeds of about 55 to 60 mph. I can let off the gas, slow down to about 50 and it will go away. This usually only happens when I am going around a right hand curve in the road. I have increased and decreased air pressure in my tires and my shocks, but still has it. Does anybody know what the problem may be?

I have a new tire on it, with less than 1000 miles on it. I had already checked that.

What front tire?

Pressures?

What make of trike kit?

Is it set up with a "rake kit"?

Both hands on handlebars?

It is a Dunlop tire with 45 lbs in it. It does have the rake kit, and yes both hands on the handlebars.

Don't know if this will help you or not, but my 99 1500 had a head shake problem at almost any speed if
I tried to let go of the bars.
Previous owner said it did that since new and he could never take his hands off the bars at any speed.
I just put a Michelin Commander II on the front and the problem is gone!
I can take my hands off the bars at any speed now and it tracks straight and steady.
