I got two screws left over

Postby kiptap » Thu Oct 06, 2016 9:48 pm

OK, at the sake of a thousand jokes, I removed the plastic from the front cowl reflector to the cornering lights and the CB and Air control skins plus the radio and both dash pockets. I put it all back together and I had two screws left over.

Can someone recognize these? <insert all the jokes right here>

Assuming the bike you have listed in your profile is the one you are referring to, you have posted this in the wrong forum. This forum is the Gl1500 forum, which covers 1988 through 2000. Try posting in the 1200 forum. :)

These screws are used at the lower end behind the tear shaped covers that are often lost

Yep. I took those little chrome covers off, never seen them again.

ok, yes those are them.... unfortunately I used some other screw with a washer in that location.... looks like I'm just going to have to tear it down when it rains one day.

Thanks

At least you still have the screws. ;)

But will you still have them by the time it rains?

LOL... I've wondered that also but I fixed that issue.
Small parts goes into a plastic baggie and that goes in the left faring pocket. It's a quick access for 'to do' or forgot where it went items, as long as it fits IN that pocket.

But now you have to figure out where the screws you DID use there came from, right?

The screws hole is difficult to see, the hole they go into is deeply recessed.
Been there, dun'it.
