Timimg belt tension pulley

Post by Camp » Thu Oct 13, 2016 8:49 pm

Anyone know the best place to purchase top quality tension pulleys for a reasonable price? Am in the market for two new ones, as I am shortly going to change my timing belts, and at a 107,000 miles , I am definitely going to change the pulleys, too. Honda dealer wants $109.00 + tax, for one.Think I can do better than that. Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Hey Camp,

I've just done mine, about three weeks ago. I used the Gates belts part number T275 and I bought idlers from my local auto factors store, branded Blue Point, part number ADG07690. Belts were €35 each and idlers €25 each. Bike is running like a dream. There are Gatess idlers available too, part number T42015, but I couldn't source these in Ireland at the time.

I used an air hacksaw and cut off the old rollers between the roller and the plate. Then drilled out the old centre with a 10mm drill anf used a 10mm bolt and nylock nut to attach the new roller. See pics.
