side lights

Postby wbetheajr » Sat Sep 04, 2010 4:06 pm

On my 92 does it have side lights or reflectors on the saddle bag sides, I thought they were lights because there is wires running into them but neither side comes on and I cannot figure out how to pop them apart and check bulbs. I have voltage in the wires.I am under the impression they came stock as reflectors. Anyone with a 92 that can help?

Open your saddlebags and inside the cover you'll see 3 " 8mm " cap nuts at the bottom of the cover , just take those off and you'll be able to take the reflectors off and see if they have bulbs or not !!!!

we did that and tried to take the back off of the reflector. unless it is some kind of leds there is no bulbs, but what is throwing us is the fact it has wires running into it and the wire have power on them. When I get a chance I will take one out again and take some pics.

Looks like the LED replacement from the photo, and yes led's will go out. Got 9 lights out on my license frame.

the wiring for those should go to the lower tail lights, those lights you have look like the new six bulb type... you can CAREFULLY remove the RED lens but be easy so you don't break the tabs... and see if the bulbs are in there.. also one of the wires should be a ground... so make sure they are completely hooked up in the tail light section on the lower rear of the bike.....
