Rear brake problems

Postby jayh » Mon Aug 10, 2009 1:14 pm

Buddy has a '89 GL1500 and went to ride after the bike sat for a while but had no rear brakes. He put brake fluid in res. but still no brakes. He tried to bleed them and said sometimes he would get a geyser of fluid and other times just a little bubble of fluid. He said there is NO resistance on the pedal and can't build pressure when pumping. Does this sound like master cyl problem??

How is he bleeding them? Is he aware that the rear master cylinder operates both the rear and one of the front calipers, and both have to be bled in a specific sequence?
