Trailer hitch brackets

Post by jcains » Sat Aug 05, 2017 9:25 pm

I just picked up a used Showchrome trailer hitch but it doesn't have any hardware. Does anyone know if you can purchase the front brackets that hook to the crash bars, or does anyone have a set they are willing to part with.

I don't have any, but on my bike, one of mine was damaged when I got the bike, so I just cut/amateurishly machined a new one from some high strength steel plate. Might be an option for you.

Thanks for the reply WingAdmin but I was able to find them at Cyclemax. I found some clamps from Show Chrome online that said they were 1" clamps for mouting light bars but didn't say they would fit the hitch. I called or went to 4 different motorcycle shops to find out if they were the same clamps and couldn't get an answer other than "I don't know". When I called Cyclemax, Gary didn't know either but he took the time to call Show Chrome to find out. He had them in stock for $27.00. I had all but given up hope of ever finding a store with good customer service but, Cyclemax has exceeded my expectations. This was the first time I had done business with them and I will continue to do so. Anyone in the area that hasn't been there needs to check it out.

Gary is a friend of mine, and Cyclemax is a 10 minute ride from my house (they're not too far from you, either). They really go out of their way to make sure customers get what they need.

I have had some very good experiences with Cyclemax's customer service also. They are a top notch outfit and my first choice for stuff for the Goldwing.
