89 GL1500 leaky trunk and bags

Post by DarrellFields » Wed Nov 08, 2017 11:36 pm

Im having a problem with water pooling in my trunk and saddlebags,, I'm not sure if it is the weatherstripping at the lid or somewhere else. Any ideas? Thanks

There is a service bulletin about this issue.

I don't know exactly the warranty period but, maybe you can ask for a free replacement from a Honda dealer showing this bulletin.

That notice looks like it is from 1989. Even though it was a service bulletin, it is 28 years old. Good luck trying to get them to honor it. It would be less of a headache to just replace them yourself.
