Repair or replace CB

Post by brian.peters » Sun Mar 18, 2018 10:40 am

So while trying to hack my CB to get it BT to the helmet the unit quit working. It was flaky before but now it's stuck on channel 40 and has no TX.

I only really want it because it's there and I want anything installed to work but 125 with a chance to go higher for repair or what looks to be a good used unit off a wrecked bike for 75?

Either way it's a lot for something I will probably never use past my testing but i want it to work.

Before doing anything else, you might try spraying some contact cleaner in those switches. A lot of times they will quit working and a good cleaning with some electrical contact cleaner will get them working again. You may have to take the housing apart to get to the switches better to clean them if spraying in from the front doesn't work.

I think you pretty much answered your own question.
