Installing front lower fender extension

Postby don1950 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 11:53 pm

I have a 1995 Goldwing SE and have purchased a lower front fender extension. The instructions say the first step is to take off the front fork caps by using a flat blade screwdriver and prying them off. I tried this but I am afread they will break before they comne off. Am I doing this correctly?

The back of the caps have a post and grommet holding them on just like the side panels. The front has two hooks that clip under the fender. Be careful they are very small and can snap off. You have to pry the back of the cap out of the grommet. I use my fingers. Screwdriver will scratch the paint.
