That hose nipple existed on the right radiator of GL1500's from 1988 to 1991, the radiator part number was 19010-MN5-003:

For 1992-2000 model year bikes, it was deleted, and the right radiator part number became 19010-MAM-003:

That's the radiator you have.

Incidentally, that nipple was part of the coolant bypass circuit:

Coolant bypass
Coolant bypass

That whole circuit was deleted starting in 1992. You might be able to just put a bolt into the end of that tube and clamp it in place to seal off that tube with no ill effects - I can't say for sure, but if you don't want to try to source another radiator, it's probably what I would do.

They did send the wrong radiator. The by-pass hose location was changed to the water pump housing in '92.

The 1500 by-pass also incorporates heated intakes and carburetor heat which aids driveability in cold engine operation. A by-pass (thermostat) system can be found on virtually every engine which allows a small amount of coolant to always circulate which prevents isolated hot spots within the engine before a thermostat opens. :geek:
