air outlet switch

Postby siebo » Sun Sep 13, 2009 3:04 pm

I have 1989 gl1500 and the air ride works great but the problem I have is that the aux. air hose in saddle bag doesn't pump up anything unless I hold P check and air increase buttons. outlet button doesn't do anything. whats wrong, am I not doing it right or is there something wrong. Thanks for all and any help.

For the air outlet to operate the ingnition key must be in the acc or park or lock position. Some air pumps will not produce enuf air to inflate much anyway. I always carry in all my bkes a modified 12v mini air pump.

On my '97, the compressor "Outlet" button works only with the ign key in the park position. If you connect the air hose to the outlet connection in the right saddlebag, & leave the bike running, you can get pressure just my pressing the "P-Check"" & the "Increase" buttons at the same time. This way you won't run your battery down while blowing up a freind's Harley flat tire. Been there & done that.....-Rich
