1997 Aspencade Windshild Issue

Postby ford8520 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 9:16 am

I am a new member and having issues with my windshild slipping down after i adjust it up. does anyone have any suggestions on DIY adjustiments to tighten it up? i have raised the adjustment hands, pulled up the shield to the desired height and set the rubber strips back and lowered the handles but it still slips back down by the end of my ride. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi. One suggestion is to remove the front trim to make sure everything is tight in there. It wouldn't hurt to remove and clean the rubber 'pads' that grip the ws, as over time soap suds, etc can get in there and lube things up. Also, have the mirrors been off the bike lately, such that perhaps the lock assembly wasn't reinstalled properly or tightly?

Good luck. Ron in MI
