gas cap vent tube

Post by furnacedoc » Mon Mar 21, 2011 8:47 pm

Hello, the vent tube from my gas cap goes to a special fitting and then into a canister that has a vent tube running down from it. my question is should i be able to blow thru the tube with out feeling a restriction. I have a 97 1500SE. I have the manual but it doesn't say and it also appears like the gas cap have a check valve built into it?

Not exactly sure about blowing through the tube but there are two tubes, behind the lower left side cover with plugs in them, that need to be drained from time to time.

Ok , So this afternoon I finally had time to really check my Wing out and realize that the tube from the gas cap does tie into a canister but runs down around to the bottom of the bike but doesn't extend below the frame. It was totally pinched off at one point so I rerouted it and now can blow thru the vent, so I will see how this does.
