Hello,
does anyone have DIY step by step on how to flush and change coolant on a 1997 Aspencade?

Thanks,
Mike in GA.

Hi, I,ve changed mine a couple of times. I do not own the bike anymore so I,m going by memory not so good the older I get. First off on the center stand or a bike jack remove both covers located between the consol where Your key is located and storage compartments, A slight pull on the side will release the tabs. If engine is cool remove the radiator cap on the Rt. side and the resevoir cap on the Lt. Next remove the radiator lower cowling located on the bottom front of radiator grill three phillips screws I believe. Also there are plastic tabs on the sides You will have to remove with care. You will find the lower radiator hose shaped like a Y loosen the clamp at the water pump using a suitable drain pan remove hose and let drain. Then reinstall hose and clamp, Using only Honda approved flush, Pour contents in radiator with a funnel topped off with distilled water only. Replace radiator cap. Follow directions on flush product. Drain after engine cools down, And repeat the above steps using only distilled water. Drain when cool , Replace hose and secure clamp add only HONDA APPROVED premixed coolant! fill the radiator and replace cap. Add the same coolant to the Lt. side resevoir to the dipstick fill line, Run engine until operating temperture is reached recheck resevoir level add if nessesary due to air in system and thermostat operation, Check level a few times to be sure. check for leaks and reassemble. Good luck to Ya.
