spark plug replacement Q

new '93 gl1500 owner, i have 8,000 miles on my spark plugs and the bike runs perfect. any idea if and when i should replace these?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Generally speaking we probably replace spark plugs a lot sooner than we need to. The manual indicates to change them every 8000 miles, which coincidentally is the same service interval as replacing the oil and oil filter. So who is replacing plugs with every oil change? I don't know what Honda is thinking with those intervals.

Personally I can see no reason for that frequency. Plugs should be good for three times that. Like oil, todays engines and fuels do not put the same kind of stress on plugs as engines of the past.
