oil and anti-freeze checks

Postby tbear » Sat Apr 23, 2011 2:22 pm

my question is; do you check "oil" with bike on the "side stand?" and
do you check your "coolant" on the "center stand?" actually, do you only
check your oil on side stand and everything else on the center stand??
This is on a 1999 1500 Goldwing.

Center stand to get a correct level for everything. However if you know where the oil level should be when on the side stand I see no problem. If you fill when on the side stand you will over fill.

I have and at times do check it on the side stand but I usually use the center stand. My VTX only has a side stand so checking it is on the side stand UNLESS I have the time and I'll stand it up while I'm astraddle it and check it then.
